'The Voice' Enlists Reba McEntire, Sia, Monica and Adam Blackstone As Advisers

'The Voice' just added a little more star power to its roster as Sia, Monica, Reba McEntire and producer Adam Blackstone join the competition series as advisers.The music pros will help coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the battle competition phase.
According to NBC, Sia will team up with Xtina (just think of the rhyming capabilities!); the two Adams (Levine and Blackstone) will work together; Cee Lo is teamed with Monica; and Shelton is with country superstar Reba McEntire. The coaches will work with advisers to pit their own artists against each other, cutting the teams in half via dueling duets.

TV 101: The Royal Wedding Is Coming ... Why Do We Care, Again?

Yesterday, I overheard some random woman in line at the drug store say to her friend, "Let's call in sick on Friday and watch the Royal Wedding!" As she blathered on while coyly posing next to Time magazine's special royal wedding issue, I thought about the upcoming regal nuptials and why anyone outside of the royal family and a handful of jilted exes would even care that it's happening.Royalty
The concept of royalty is pretty fascinating if you really sit down and think about it, preferably over some scones. As archaic and absurd as monarchy is in our current cultural climate, it doesn't stop us from trying to construct our own hierarchy of arbitrary and meaningless power. We want the glitz and the glam of a royal family to gossip and obsess over -- so much so that we've created our own warped nobility out of people who have done nothing to deserve it: celebrities.

'Glee' Cast Takes Over New York City

'Glee' is taking a bite out of the Big Apple! On Monday, April 25, the cast used Time Square as their stage.
The fun-loving ensemble cast is in town to shoot scenes for the season finale episode and have taken to Twitter to show their excitement. Dianna Agron tweeted, "filming in NYC is simply wonderful," while co-star Lea Michele shared "now it's time to get movin because my dream of shooting Glee in NYC is finally coming true! Hope u r ready NYC...Miss Rachel Berry is here!!"
These two are among the many other members of the talented cast who are taking over the Big Apple. Jenna Ushkowitz, Heather Morris and Ashley Fink joined them to film a dance routine in the busy section of New York City, and they stopped to wave at fans and snap photos of each other in between takes.
The ladies of 'Glee' are not the only ones on location. Cory Monteith, Chord Overstreet, Mark Salling and Chris Colfer were also spotted on set, taking in the scenery and admiring the growing crowd of fans, gathering to watch them tape.

'Doctor Who' Season 6, Episode 1 Recap

['Doctor Who' - 'The Impossible Astronaut']Grab your fezzes and Jammie Dodgers; The Doctor is back for more mind-boggling, timey-wimey fun!
It's been four months since we last saw Amy, Rory, and our beloved Doctor zipping through time and space and bending our little nerd brains with perplexing plots and paradoxes. And judging by the first half of the Season 6 premiere, 'Doctor Who' is making up for lost time by cranking the drama (and the complexity level) up to eleven.
It was a challenge, but not a chore, trying to keep up with all the tricky time-travel tidbits built into this incredibly compelling season opener. The tone of the episode grew gloomier and the characters grew more desperate as the minutes ticked on. But, luckily, 'The Impossible Astronaut' delivered a lively and joyous opening sequence before leading us down a very dark and strange path.
A lot of shocking and memorable stuff happened before the hour was over, but the opening sequence was one of my favorite parts of the premiere. It was funny and fast-paced, and the expert cinematography established an epic and cinematic tone, look and feel that, as far as I could tell, is new to 'Who.'

'Smallville': A Peek At the Superman Suit

With the final season of 'Smallville' wrapping up and the "no tights, no flights" doctrine out the window, it was only time before the Superman suit officially made its way to the series.In promo pics from 'Prophecy,' the penultimate episode of the series, Clark and Lois are seen with the suit in the Fortress.
The suit is definitely more 'Superman Returns' rather than 'Superman.' The "S" is smaller and the material looks sort of scaly.
'Smallville' executive producer Kelly Souders teased 'Prophecy' to our own Laura Prudom.
Besides the return of Kara, Souders said there's a "poignant takeaway" for Lois and Clark moment at the end of the episode.

On 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC), 'Happy Days' cast members Marion Ross, Don Most and Anson Williams discussed a lawsuit they've filed against CBS, alleging that the network failed to pay them a percentage of merchandising revenue over the years."For thirty-seven years, not a statement, not a dime," complained Williams.

Justin Timberlake Books 'Saturday Night Live' Finale Hosting Gig

Justin Timberlake is returning to 'Saturday Night Live.' Yep, the multi-talented singer/actor/comedian responsible for 'D*ck in a Box' -- who has won two Emmys for his appearances on the show -- will host the finale on May 21.According to our friends at The Huffington Post, 'Saturday Night Live' made the announcement to a fan on Twitter.
A fan tweeted "I didn't realize that @nbcsnl isn't back until May 7th!!! What am I going to do!? Is Tina Fey the season finale!? #SNL #aaahhhh."
The show responded, "Nope! We have Timberlake after that!" However, the tweet has since been deleted.
According to the New York Post, Lady Gaga will be the musical guest. This is Gaga's second time on the 'SNL' stage, her first appearance was in October 2009.

'Supernatural' Preview: 6 Reasons Why You Can't Miss This Week's Rip-Roarin' Western Episode

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more fearless series currently on air than the CW's 'Supernatural'. Over the past six seasons, the dashing Winchester brothers have faced everything from Santa Claus to a spoof of Dr. McDreamy, but this Friday, they're facing a genre that few shows (or movies) dare to touch these days: The Western.'Supernatural' already smashed the fourth wall with great aplomb earlier this season, but pulling off a believable Western on a TV budget would be a feat for any show without a premium cable network footing the bill. So it gives us great pleasure to report that, not only is 'Frontierland' gorgeous to look at, it's also one of the series' strongest episodes to date, providing humor and action while keeping up the momentum of the mythology as we approach the season finale.
TV Squad was lucky enough to see an advanced screener of this Friday's wild Western episode, and we've managed to whittle down an hour of memorable moments into a list of six reasons why this episode is not to be missed. Proceed with caution, pilgrims: there are mild spoilers ahead.

'Game of Thrones' Renewed for Second Season After Strong Premiere Ratings

HBO is set to play more 'Games.'The network has decided to give 'Game of Thrones' a second season after Sunday's airings of the show pulled in more than 4.2 million viewers.
"We are delighted by the way [executive producers] David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have brought George R.R. Martin's amazing book series to the screen, and thrilled by the support of the media and our viewers," HBO president Michael Lombardo said in a statement. "This is the continuation of an exciting creative partnership."
EW reports that 2.2 million viewers tuned in to the first airing of 'Game of Thrones,' and a whopping 1.2 million viewers watched a second airing of the show. A third Sunday broadcast pushed the total viewership for the night to 4.2 million.

'William & Kate' Review: Was it Good-Bad or Just Plain Bad?

Let's get this out of the way first: 'William & Kate' is a terrible movie. It's like the creators of this made-for-TV movie about Prince William and Kate Middleton's relationship started out with a checklist of the most ridiculous rom-com cliches to include, then gave up and tossed them all in there instead. She's not interested in him at first! She's better at sports! He's a terrible cook! Their first kiss is in the rain! (Not upside-down, sadly.)Of course, that's also the reason I loved it.
Fortunately, after a clunky opening half-hour (we know they're going to get together, just start dating already!), 'William & Kate' hits its stride with that magical combination of ridiculous script, wooden acting and that should-be-patented Lifetime Original Movie awkwardness that infiltrates every one of the channel's rushed-to-TV creations.

['Army Wives' - 'Strategic Alliances']Watching this episode of 'Army Wives' reminded me of 'Fiddler on the Roof.' Don't laugh; I'm serious. It was that blend of the bitter with the sweet. The joy mixed with sorrow. For fans, most of the show was joyful, although hard reality hovered over the proceedings from start to finish.
After the sadness of Jeremy's death, happiness was expected in the form of Pamela and Chase's wedding. The tribe spoke and they wanted Pamela to have a real wedding, not a quickie "I do" at the courthouse that was what she was contemplating.

This week's episode, titled 'Kent,' was a worthy follow-up to last December's fun and twisted Earth-2 romp, 'Luthor.'
It's always a blast when Clark Luthor comes to town. These episodes give star Tom Welling a chance to cut loose a little and to unleash his inner Nicholas Cage by playing the malevolent and dangerous Ultraman.
Clark Luthor felt a little more restrained here than he did when we last saw him. I guess it's hard to keep acting like an entitled and self-important superdouche when everyone in the world is trying to kill you.
